In 2020, the world famous Jewelery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) will go virtual.

September 1, 2020 – Informa Markets Jewelery announced that Jewelery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) 2020 is going online this year with the launch of Jewelery & Gem Digital World (J&G Digital World), a virtual show that seamlessly integrates online space together with a rich program of industry forums, discussions and workshops.
JGW 2020 was originally scheduled for September at two venues: September 13-17 at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) for precious materials and September 15-19 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (HKCEC) for jewelry and other related products. However, after much deliberation, the show has been pushed back to November 9-13 at AWE in support of the necessary security measures to stop the spread and limit the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak. As the situation continues to evolve and the outlook remains uncertain, Informa Markets Jewelery is now preparing by September next year. “We know how important our jewelry and gem shows are as powerful platforms where our community can come together, create strong business relationships and discover leads to increase sales. We are aware of the tremendous responsibility we have as the organizer of the largest jewelry events in the world, led by our flagship show JGW. No one is more disappointed than we are with the decision to move the industry’s premier in-person event to 2021, ”said David Bondi, Senior Vice President Asia, Informa Markets.

“Our top priority has always been to provide our stakeholders with a safe, reliable and highest quality sourcing experience, which is simply not possible in the current environment. New challenges, however, have provided us with new opportunities to work on creative solutions that will unite our community in the new Jewelery & Gem Digital World. ”

Scheduled for October 27-29, J&G Digital World is the first in a series of virtual digital products complemented by custom digital catalogs, stock management solutions and personalized showroom technologies that will remain a valuable service in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis. Several new online initiatives will also be launched as a prelude to the virtual show, including a series of Asian jewelry industry webinars and the Jewelery & Gem Knowledge Community online education program. “In the coming months, we will introduce even more exciting opportunities for industry stakeholders by optimizing our best-in-class physics shows with our new digital capabilities,” Bondi said.

In the meantime, the JNA Awards 2020 will showcase their winners in a virtual presentation scheduled for October 27th – the first day of J&G Digital World. The most prestigious program of its kind in the international jewelery and gem industry, the JNA Awards are the best business practice champion honoring companies and individuals that demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovative thinking and sustainable and socially responsible strategies. This year’s event is open to registered members of the J&G Digital World and the JNA Awards.
