Streamliner: this is the name of the line launched in 2020 by H. Moser & Cie. Grand winner of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2020 in the Chronograph category, the Streamliner is on the way to becoming an essential model. Synonymous with fluidity, geometric curves and dynamic shapes, this collection above all means integration with its steel bracelet perfectly integrated into the cushion-shaped case. Steel on steel, considered in the Moser way, that is to say by playing the card of minimalism to better sublimate the resolutely new aesthetic of the Streamliner models. Following the success of its Chronograph Flyback Automatic with its smoked gray dial and its three-hand watch, H. Moser & Cie. presents the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue, equipped with the now unavoidable eponymous dial.
In fine watchmaking, it’s the details that make all the difference. With the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue, H. Moser & Cie. creates a creation that combines the right proportions, fluidity of shapes and high-end finishes, all associated with a color that has become legendary in the H. Moser & Cie. palette, the Funky Blue. Like all models in the Streamliner collection, this chronograph has rounded curves, referring to the first high-speed trains of the 1920s and 30s from which it borrows the name. A shaped watch with a steel cushion case with a diameter of 42.3 mm, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue is water resistant to 12 ATM in passive and dynamic mode. Its off-center crown, adorned with an “M”, is positioned at 4 o’clock. It balances the two chronograph pushers located at 10 and 2 o’clock. Designed like a real sculpture, this case has harmonious proportions and beautiful aerodynamics. It is topped by a subtly domed sapphire crystal, Glassbox type, to which the transparent caseback responds. Extending these curves, an integrated steel bracelet, smoothly curved, follows the line of the wrist, the shape of which it follows, even that of the smallest wrists, thanks to its unique link design. Extremely complex in design, this bracelet has very fluid lines, on organic shapes. The links, all articulated, are adorned with a slight wave associating a vertical brushed with polished surfaces. The bezel offers a sun brushed finish; there is an alternation of polished and brushed surfaces on the case, which presents hollow and satin shapes on the sides, reminiscent of the traditional left shapes typical of Moser cases.
On the periphery of the Funky Blue dial, the outer white and red timer measures the seconds while the inner timer counts down the minutes. At midday, the number 60 dominates, evoking the stop watches of the 60s and 70s, when readability and functionality took precedence. Who says “chronograph”, says “precision”: this finesse is found in the choice of hands for the measured time, which are provided with a thicker base and a fine point, as on car counters or instruments. of measurement. Constantly favoring readability, H. Moser & Cie. has opted for red for the seconds hand, while the minute hand is rhodium-plated. To indicate the hours and minutes, the Manufacture has chosen curved three-dimensional hands, in two parts, fitted with blocks of Globolight®, an innovative ceramic-based material containing Superluminova®.
On the movement side, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue is fitted with the caliber developed by AGENHOR with the support of the H. Moser & Cie teams. This movement is extremely complex in design but dedicated to simplicity, readability, minimalism, while emphasizing practicality and ergonomics through a display in the center. The first automatic chronograph with a central display equipped with a flyback function on the minute and second, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue offers improved reading precision and is all about sobriety. At the center of the movement, the keenest eyes will discover a cam sculpted in the shape of a pointy-eared figurine, reminiscent of a famous character from comics and superhero movies. This secret intended for insiders shows that there is room for a touch of humor even in the world of traditional fine watchmaking.
