“And this is also amber …” | Jewelry Garden Magazine

What is the word “amber” associated with? A brooch from grandma’s box … Mother’s beads made of bright orange balls … A stone out of fashion, only acceptable as a vintage element …

In the public consciousness, a certain and very simplified idea of amber as a “sunny” stone, bright and sparkling, has formed, from which beautiful jewelry is made. The exhibition of samples of the natural science collection of the Amber Museum presents another amber … – one that does not look like amber. It is not similar in shape, color, the one about which you would say: “You never think that this is also amber!”

Variations from colorless and light yellow to red-brown are considered “classic” colors of amber. The combination of different natural factors leads to a much more varied color range of amber. Visitors to the new exhibition will learn how, for example, the blue or green shades of the Baltic gem arise and will be able to admire the unusual stones.

The exposition will run until December 2. Entrance – with a general ticket to the museum.
